YOUR LIFE...in CHRIST Jim Elliot, a renowned missionary martyred at age twenty eight said this, "He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." Mr. Elliot was inferring, of course, that those who place their faith in Christ are letting go of the life that will perish to gain the life they can't lose - a life with Christ that is everlasting. This is no fool's choice, but the wisest choice ever made. It removes the sting of death, and transforms it into a doorway, a gateway into God's eternal kingdom. Elliot's quote provides a paradigm shift on what Christ taught. That is, that Christ is the Way, Truth, and Life, and that no one gains entrance into Heaven, or into the presence of God except through Him. This requires placing our full trust and faith in His finished work on the cross, and exchanging our way of living with His way of living. Doing so requires us to work on developing our lives in Christ. We don't work to gain salvation for that is a gift given freely. Instead, we work on becoming Christ's grace filled disciples. Working on grace is an oxymoron. It requires extending unconditional love and grace to those outside as well as inside the kingdom of God.

At Y NOT?, after surrendering our lives to Christ we begin this work. We assemble in Christ Centered gatherings for the good work of individually and corporately growing into a unified Body of Christ. If done properly this work progressively leads us into the grace, nature, presence, and character of Christ. The ultimate goal, of course, is to access His life, and allow His life to live through us. Spirit Mind Body God created us all with three parts - Spirit, Mind, and Body. This represents our earthly 'three in one'. These three elements do not operate independently of each other. They are intertwined. They work simultaneously and organically with each other. They work to generate the fire that burns within. How brightly the fire burns is determined by how well we develop our Spirit, Mind, and Body in Christ. It is a fire that barely flickers, or burns brightly with a passion for Christ Centered Living.
The old life has gone, and the new life has come. As we are developing our new life we submit one to the other, and 'one another' one another within God's grand design. We work with, and prepare each other to teach and train others to develop their lives in Spirit, Mind, and Body with Christ at the center. We continuously work to 'crucify' the worldly, flesh life we can't keep to access the life we can't lose - a life with Christ that is everlasting. Christ took away our condemnation as He nailed the law to the cross. (Colossians 2:14). Therefore, a Christ centered life is led under Grace, not under law. Grace teaches us to 'walk in the Spirit.' When walking in the Spirit our witness to the world is made effortless by what others can now see in us. It is a life not there beforehand. It is a life no longer held in bondage to the cares and worries of this world. It is a life set free by the power of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:1) It is a life that finds its 'all in all' in Christ. It is a truly transformed life. We become what we're told in scripture we are - aliens and strangers of this world. Not aliens and strangers causing people to run in fear and doubt, but aliens and strangers who help remove fear and doubt. Not aliens and strangers seeking to steal, devour, and destroy, but aliens and strangers who give freely, build up, accept, and love others unconditionally. No longer of this world we now bring to this world that which the world is without - the love and life of Christ.
