Galatians 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." Freedom from what? Among many other things, freedom from static, corporate, impersonal religion, spectatorship, denominations, traditions of man, ritual, legalism, churchianity, and abusive use of power to control and dominate. Most importantly, as we place our faith in Him we are redeemed, and given eternal life. He sets us free from the condemnation of the law. He nailed it to the cross. (Colossians 2:14) He leads us to walk in the Spirit.
At Y NOT?, nothing is more important than your Freedom in Christ, and exhorting you to reach your Greatest Potential for the Kingdom of God. It's what He came to set us free for - to Empower Us All for Christ Centered Living. It's the greatest fulfillment that life offers - growing in Christ, and experiencing the joy that comes from helping others do the same.
The question is this. Are you a consumerist, or on a mission? Are you willing to sacrifice, and lay down your life or the kingdom of God, or, are you just a spectator who likes to show up for the Sunday dog and pony show? Are you willing to take hold
of that for which Christ took hold of you, or will you continue to turn it over to a Sunday speaker, and let him do it for you? It's YOUR choice!
At Y NOT?, we're not in anyway suggesting there are not times for rest and relaxation - to enjoy times of laying back to "enjoy the view". What we are saying is the Institutional Church is all about a once a week, one hour dog and pony show. It turning God's people into spectators, mindless drones, and consumers there just to cruise along, and take in the scenery. Is that what Jesus intended?
We believe there comes a time when you stop sucking on the bottle, and take hold of that which Christ took hold of you. Christ turned His ministry over to every one of us. We all inherited His individual priesthood. It's our ministry. He wants to break us free of religious systems dominated and controlled by the few, the professional clergy man, at the expense of the common good for all. He wants us to break free of the Tyranny of the Status Quo. He wants us to grow organically with all participating as we grow freely and spontaneously.
Go organic! Take it home where the heart is, where it started, and where it belongs!
