"This the Dearest Law We Know. It Is Happy To Go Low." Loving, Caring, Reaching, Discipleship, Praying, Serving, Sacrificing, Ambition, Achievement, Accomplishment, Goals, Planning, Developing, Leading, Recruiting, Training, Managing, etc., have nothing to do with us getting any closer to, or more loved by God than we already are. He cannot get any closer to us than He is, or love us more than He does already. This is simply because He loves and accepts us unconditionally. That is, there is nothing in our 'performing', or in our doing that in and of itself draws us closer to God, or causes Him to love us to a higher degree. What it will do if it's done in a balanced, spirit filled manner, is allow us to enjoy and more fully experience the river that flows within. Our dreams will grow and flourish as we faithfully, gracefully move according to our passions, gifting, and God given heart led desires.
Leadership
The Way Up Is Down To move the flash along at your own pace mouse over at the bottom of the flash. That said, are we to honor the achievements of others? Yes, we are to rejoice with them, commend them, and utilize their achievements as inspiration to spur us on. However, keep in mind that a person's pre-disposition can have a great deal to do with what they may accomplish versus another in a different pre-disposition. There are many in this world struggling to find the strength to pray, much less build a ministry. Therefore, growing rapidly in leadership might not in God's eyes mean anything more than another who spent the same time and effort, and to others seemingly not accomplished as much. Why? They may carry an entirely different dream, have different goals and objectives, talents and abilities, or face greater challenges than another. Therefore, it would do us all well to remember that it is never a good thing to compare ourselves with others regardless of how great or small our achievements might seem -- because no achievement is ever seen as too small or too great by God. Provided, of course, we are doing the best we can with the talents and abilities He has given us. At Y NOT?, we will see countless people led from deep pain and brokenness to healing and restoration. Those who may be seen by some as "ordinary" people will go on to achieve extraordinary things. They will soar like eagles, and develop Christ centered ministries that will leave us spellbound.
Remember that in Christ centered ministry the way up - is down. Jesus came down from heaven and led through service to others. He didn't come holding a title over us demanding we do this or that. As Hannah Hurnard wrote in The Water Song taken from her classic book, Hinds Feet On High Places: "This the dearest law we know. It is happy to go low." Christ certainly knew this, and wants us to know it as well. Christ centered leadership begins and ends in servanthood. Again, the way up - is down! Now, because someone grows in leadership doesn't make them better, more highly valued, or looked on with more favor by God. God loves us, and values each of us equally and impartially. How great is this love and value? Think of this. He gave His perfect life for our imperfect, sin stained lives. It's the highest price ever paid, and the greatest love ever expressed. If He didn't place eternal, unlimited value on each of us He wouldn't have paid the price He did for us.
Finally, as you launch out to reach your dreams you will encounter what is known as The Joseph Factor. It is the ups, the downs, and all arounds of the life in Christ. It's the unique, individual experience we each encounter as we launch out to explore who we are in Christ, grow in Christ, and teach others to do the same. To the left you'll see the leadership levels that can be achieved as you serve others to help them grow in Christ. Leadership achievement at Y NOT? is not related to or equate spiritual authority or hierarchical order, nor does it give power to rule over others. It is given for quasi-autonomous administration. That is, to meet with others in similar leadership designations for the coordination of ministry activities and events, i.e., in home organic church training and planting, leadership training, conferences, retreats, recreation, talent nights, media development, etc. Set sail on your journey to make your Christ centered dreams come true. It's the greatest journey there is! Your life will be wonderfully enriched as you do, and so will the lives of those you touch. You can learn more on how you can grow in leadership from your ministry sponsor, in home gatherings, or ministry opportunity meetings. Y NOT?
