Our Mission Never Ends

Focus on the mission... allowing Christ to live through you wherever you are.

The only way to keep a broken vessel full is to keep
it continuously under the tap." -- Dwight L Moody

John 17:21

The word mission requires focusing to reach a goal. Everything we do in view of the watching world is an opportunity to "hit the target" - acting out our faith in love and good deeds under the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

When doing so we look for opportunities to build relationships where the life of Christ can be revealed, and the Gospel can be shared. That's what a missionary is, does, and lives for. It's what we who are in Christ are -- full time missionaries.

At Y Not?, we hope you will begin to see your life as a missionary journey 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Set an example for those in your ministry. Encourage others to utilize the empowerment from heaven above to mobilize as missionaries in the context of where they are. You don't need a seminary degree to be a missionary - you already are.

The very fact we are in a relationship with Christ means we carry the responsibility of being a missionary. Being a missionary doesn't necessarily mean packing your bags and going out of the country. As a matter of fact, one of the most difficult mission fields in the world today...the traditional, Institutional Church. Think about it.

Being a missionary can mean going to the next door neighbor, the person you met that lives across town, or it can mean an out of town trip requiring an overnight stay. It can also mean an extended stay in another nation from the one you now live in.

Therefore, the first hat we put on at the start of a new day is that of a missionary. We're missionaries to our family, neighbors, workplace, social, and recreational outlets. These are our mission fields. And, yet, what is the real purpose behind the mission? The impartation and revelation of the life of Christ. To allow Him to live and shine forth through us.
